In 2020, we took in 10 hens from an intensive egg-laying facility not far from our sanctuary. They had spent their lives in a barn system, which was dark, cramped, and miserable, with metal floors and no opportunity for dust bathing, nest building, or any other activities hens love to do. Like most egg-laying hens, they were destined to stay there until their egg production declined and they would be sent to slaughter…
Thanks to the work of a great organisation called Red Hen Rehoming, these hens will spend the rest of their days at Goodheart Farm Animal Sanctuary instead, with lots of room to nest, explore, spread their wings, and spend unlimited time with their friends!
But, to settle them officially into sanctuary life, they need names! Can you help us welcome them to Goodheart by choosing their names?

- Tell us your chosen name by adding it to the ‘Notes’ section at the checkout
- We’ll send you a digital voucher with your official naming certificate – perfect if you’re giving as a gift.
- Your hen will be given the chosen name! Make sure you're following us on social media for animal updates, sanctuary news and more!
